I just ordered on online. I received a "Groupon" for $29.99 and free shipping. My lil speaker cost me all of $31.85 USD so I will be extremely pleased for that price. LOL. My son will enjoy this as his birthday gift as he has been asking for a Jawbone or other similar and equally expensive bluetooth speakers.

Overall, I am quietly impressed with what a BassBoomz speaker can do. For the size, it’s capable and from my initial testing it looks dependable; it’s worlds apart from the plastic landfill fodder that usually fills up this part of the market.

I think the same can be said for just about any BBS software though including EleBBS. My SBBS setup is somewhat customized, although I do have more to do whenever I get back around to it. Using Baja and JS is a bit of a learning curve coming from menu based setups such as RG, Proboard and EleBBS which are the ones I have always used.
They all have stock setups and you're right, there used to be a lot of Sysops that just didn't bother.

I thought about that but as a sysop, what interests me are unique and interesting boards. Not that Synch cannot be unique and interesting. Far too many sysops leave them too stock and they all look the same to me.

I actually ended up switching to Synchronet. While I love Ele and ran it twelve years ago SBBS is currently being developed while EleBBS is not.

I, for one, would like to see your fido setup with Ele since 1) Ele boards are very scarce and I am working on one and 2) there is a severe lack of documentation available.

Nope, actually I didn't (at least yet.) Currently my system is Synchronet under windows. I've got a couple of virtual machines set up with different linux distros but haven't played around with anything to do with BBSing. Once I finally get around to that I'll update this as to whether it works or not.

well i think fidonet has seen better days. i guess the russians get a lot of use out of fidonet though. bbsing today is certainly in not the same in many ways.

people's interests are elsewhere and it seems like the people who are cropping up as new sysops are the ones that couldnt cut it back in the real bbs days and they want to tinker around.

That's true. I've often wondered why Fido doesn't have a zone for that area of the world as well. The more I've been looking the more boards I've been coming across as well. Still nowhere close to the amount back in the early to mid nineties but quite a few more than I though initially.

I've updated the system. I was having issues getting networked using EleBBS so I have switched to Synchronet. Dovenet is currently on the system and Fidonet echoes are soon to follow. Unfortunately the extra configuration I had done is no longer and I'll have to get to it here pretty soon. LORD is still online under [O]nline system and I will have Usurper back up and running soon.

Thank you for reporting on this. The corruption in Steubenville runs so deep, people have been desensitized to it. The local people hear about this and think, "Yeah, what's new?" There will be no justice for the victim and her family unless this goes national.

This is just one way Steubenville, Ohio handles crime. Sue people who are trying to let the public know what is going on. Jefferson County is famous for cover-up!! They want to shut Prinnie down and Shut people up. They have a football program that makes Penn State look like childs play! No pun intended!! Read the testimony of Anthony Craig, Evan Westlake and Mark Cole. And only 2 pigs have been charged! Outrageous-But typical Jefferson County Injustice!
